Iran targets $77b in non-oil exports by 2015: minister

TABRIZ – The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mohammad Jahromi stated here on Wednesday that the country is anticipated to hit the $77 billion spot in non-oil exports in the Fifth Socio-Economic Development Plan (2010-2015).
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 14th national conference on non-oil export development in the northwestern city of Tabriz, the minister underlined the need for bringing the policies of the government for privatization into the spotlight and expediting the trade development trend through supporting the private sector.Improving the banking system facilities, modifying interest rates, and devising scientific methods for raising competition and boosting non-oil exports are among the topics of the 2-day confab, the Mehr News Agency reported.
Economists, university professors, experts, entrepreneurs, exporters, and officials from Iran Chamber of Commerce are also present at the conference
